A Fairy Story by Mary-Anne Frost

Livia Nivea fairy story

Once upon a time there was a Nivea body lotion called Livia. First, Livia lived in the store, until a young girl brought her home from the store. And so, Livia made a bathroom cupboard next to a large glass her home. She dreamt of the day when the girl would pump some of her creamy lotion on her skin. But as the days passed, the girl ignored Livia. This made Livia very sad, and she feared that her pump would become stiff and fail entirely. If her magical lotion expired and her vitamins and almond oil lost their benefits, she surely would be thrown in the bin. So, every time the girl brushed her teeth or had her shower, Livia gazed at her and said:

You think I am just an ordinary

Lotion – lotion – lotion – lotion

And you treat me like a poisonous

Potion – potion – potion – potion

And you hate that I seek your love and

The next day, Livia got company. It was another bottle of lotion, Vaseline. Livia called this green bottle Sheen, and she hoped to become friends with Sheen. But as soon as Livia introduced herself, Sheen sneered at Livia and turned his green back on her. Every day that the girl pumped Sheen’s Vaseline and rubbed it on her body made Livia cry. She could not understand why the girl despised her. Often, Livia looked at her reflection in the mirror. There was nothing wrong with her. And she began to pray to be chucked away in the bin, just so she would not have to watch the love the girl was giving to Sheen. And that very day, the girl picked up Livia and said:

You are an old Granny’s

Lotion – lotion – lotion – lotion

Your ingredients are like witches’

Potion – potion – potion – potion

You will never have a young girl’s

Just as the girl was about to throw Livia into the bin, her mother came and told her to put Livia down. The girl frowned, and after some thinking did as her mother ordered her. Livia breathed again. Her magical white lotion would not harden and go bad in the bin. The mother opened her hand, and the daughter handed her Livia. When the woman pumped out some lotion on her wrinkly skin, Livia’s heart leapt! Seeing her glossy lotion for the first time made the mother smile. Inhaling her sweet sugary smell filled Livia with pride. As the mother rubbed Livia’s lotion onto her arm, Livia knew that this woman would spend all her magical lotion until there was none left. And when the mother brought Livia to heart, she said:

You are one nourishing and creamy

Lotion – lotion – lotion – lotion

You leave my skin glowing like a magical

Potion – potion – potion – potion

You will always have my loyalty and
